Jay Ramier, is a contemporary artist who explores his Caribbean heritage and questions how Black people are portrayed in Eurocentric France. He uses various art forms like painting, video, installation, and music. His art connects with the experiences of Black communities worldwide, from Africa to the Americas. He combines symbols of resistance, popular culture elements, and African communities' languages and music. He aims to change how Black experiences are represented in contemporary art and academia, moving away from Western-centric views.
