Pre-fair program // Public discussion: Lumbung radio and MISS READ – de-materialising an art book fair

Participants: Gregoire Rousseau (Station of Commons), Pascale Obolo (MISS READ, AFRIKADAA), Michalis Pichler (MISS READ), Eddie Choo Wen Yi (Station of Commons)

A public discussion on the collaboration of lumbung radio and MISS READ, publishing, and sound-based artistic practices. The panelists will address the origin of the collaboration, and explore together the relation between printing and audio practices as means of distribution at large. In 2021, as the Miss Read book fair could not happen in the physical space, Miss Read and Afrikadaa co-published the book "Decolonizing Art book Fair" to reflect and imagine what the immateriality at work within an art book fair can be. In 2022, Afrikadaa produced an audio work "Yékri Yékra, la chronique radicale" for lumbung radio in the context of documenta fifteen. In 2023, Miss Read and lumbung radio pursue this intervention in the form of an upcoming publication, and radio program providing a platform for a parasitic audio work, a clandestine B channel, a radiophonic echo.
