Dream Press

Dream Press is a one-woman run independent publishing studio, bookbinder and riso printer - situated in Cape Town, South Africa. Since 2021 we have started to fulfil a life long dream to be able to be publishers aiming to promote artist books, zines and printed matter. It’s been a humbling and incredible experience to collaborate with local artists and encourage the making of publications! Having a fierce love for risograph printing, we're using this vibrant and affordable medium to create unique works. Our mission is highlighting and celebrating African artists, focusing on emerging creatives and how their voices can easily travel aboard in this accessible format. In turn changing/educating the way people perceive artists from Africa. In 2024 we are planning a handful of exciting artist books, zines and printed matter. Dream Press has made a conscious decision to highlight publications by artists and voices from the African continent, political activism, BIPOC and LGBTQIAP+ communities - and in doing so we are adding/broadening our collective archive. We also fascinate workshops and educational content in the hopes to broaden the appreciation of informal printed matter and in doing so growing our community. Being able to travel to international art books fair will allow us to achieve our goals and further encourage the production of African printed matter. This is our dream and mission.
