20 years of kookbooks, yay! Founded in 2003 by poet Daniela Seel and illustrator Andreas Töpfer, kookbooks is a Berlin-based press ‒ or poets’ self-defense, as we like to put it ‒ focussing on contemporary forms of poetry, essays and poetic hybrids. Celebrating our 10th anniversary, the House for Poetry, Berlin wrote: "... what would we do without kookbooks? For ten years now this press has been an unequalled poetic treasure trove and the list of authors ... reads like an encyclopedia entry '21th century German poetry', written in 2050. Any poetry library without kookbooks is a sad thing." Besides books, we also meddle in performing practices, artistic labs, workshops, etc. Among our authors are Yevgeniy Breyger, Sonja vom Brocke, Daniel Falb, Athena Farrokhzad, Martina Hefter, Dagmara Kraus, Steffen Popp, Monika Rinck, Cia Rinne, Rike Scheffler, Sabine Scho, Katharina Schultens, Farhad Showghi, Ulf Stolterfoht, and Uljana Wolf.
