Andrei Belibou

Project Manager
Andrei Belibou is a Romanian researcher and project worker based in Berlin, focused on issues of identity, capitalism, and social change. He holds a doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin and has been part of the Miss Read team since October 2024 as project manager.

Julia Gwendolyn Schneider

Program Manager
Julia Gwendolyn Schneider is a writer/critic, editor and cultural studies scholar in Berkeley, CA, and Berlin, where she has also been the program manager at Miss Read since May 2023.

Maira Fragoso Peña

Design & Social Media Manager
Maira Fragoso Peña is a Mexican editorial and visual designer. Her work focuses on art, culture, architecture, social impact, as well as knowledge and data dissemination. She has collaborated with a wide range of cultural institutions, publishing houses, and non-profit organizations in the areas of editorial design, visual identity and web design. She has been part of Miss Read since July 2023.

Michalis Pichler

Founder & Director
Michalis Pichler, born in Berlin, lives and works in Berlin. Pichler is Founder and Director of Miss Read. He co-founded the Art Book Festival in 2009 and launched the Conceptual Poetics Day in 2013. Pichler is a writer and artist on both sides of the imaginary boundary between visual art and literature. He invented recto-verso collage and uses both pages as canvases and canvases as pages for artworks. In addition to publishing numerous artist books and a monograph published with Spector Books and Printed Matter (2015), he edited Publishing Manifestos: An International Anthology from Artists and Writers (MIT Press/Miss Read, 2019) and Coup de Dés (Collection): Books and Ideas after Mallarmé (Spector Books/Center for Book Arts, 2024) among others.

Pascale Obolo

Co-Director
Pascale Obolo, born in Yaoundé, lives and works in Paris. Since 2023 she has been co-director of Miss Read. Obolo is a filmmaker-researcher, curator, editor, and director of the African Art Book Fair, which she founded in 2014. She is the chief editor of the art magazine AFRIKADAA, which she co-founded in 2012. After studying at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français in Paris, her first film, Calypso at Dirty Jim’s, was released in 2005 and won the prize at the Cannes International Pan-African Film Festival and the African Diaspora Film Festival in 2006. Her first feature film, a documentary about Calypso Rose, was released in 2011. Obolo started working with Miss Read in 2020 and was part of the team to develop the workbook Decolonizing Art Book Fairs: Publishing Practices from the South(s) (Miss Read, AFRIKADAA, Mosaiques, 2021).

Winifred Wong

Production Manager
Winifred Wong is a Singaporean poet, writer, and performer based in Berlin. Her poetry has appeared in SAND Journal, Softblow and SingPoWriMo, among others. As a journalist, she covers cultural events and has written for arts institutions such as Esplanade Theatres and news outlet Yahoo!. She has worked as production manager with Miss Read since 2025.
