Folkwang Universität der Künste, Fotografie

We are students from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, enrolled in the Master’s programs in Photography Studies and Practice as well as Photography Studies and Research. Our publications explore photography’s role in shaping ideas, narratives, and visual dialogues.
Photography not only depicts the world but also reflects on its own impact, raising awareness of ecological issues. When paired with sustainable publishing, it becomes a powerful tool for critical engagement. Publishing itself is essential within photography, influencing how it is experienced and understood.
Our student-led publications integrate artistic and academic approaches while emphasizing environmental responsibility in both content and production. Through this, we contribute to the evolving discourse on photography, publishing, and sustainability.

The Folkwang University of the Arts includes Music, Theatre, Dance, Design and Academic Studies. It brings various disciplines and art forms together based on the idea of an interdisciplinary co-operation between the arts.
