Amalgam – Miss Read

Amalgam

Amalgam is a small independent publishing project, design practice, and journal founded by Pouya Ahmadi. Amalgam Press explores contemporary discourse around the visual and typographic manifestations of identity, language, and power through transdisciplinary projects and speculative proposals centered on thematic propositions. It brings together a dynamic group of ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American), LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and feminist artists and designers who collaborate across disciplinary boundaries to examine the mutability of language, the instability of communication, and the prospects for equitable futures. Amalgam Journal specifically explores the intersection of typography, language, and power.
