24˚36˚
24˚36˚ was initially set up in 2021 as a self-publishing venture which quickly grew in scope to one dedicated to showcasing and promoting visual artists from – and with heritage from – the subtropics and tropics.
We are focused on becoming the publishers that we were looking for ourselves: giving our artists a chance to tell their own visual stories the way they want, away from a western and white gaze. To be published by a company that does not treat them as a token or an ethnic quota.
We offer a fairer way to publish: we have no upfront charges for artists. Instead, we cover all production costs ourselves and have a profit-share agreement with each artist.
24˚36˚ is independently Black and Brown-owned with 5% of each book’s profits going towards causes and efforts which are important to that book’s artist and which support relevant grassroots visual arts.
