Tantôt & L’Oie de Cravan
Our application is part of an initiative to participate in the Montreal delegation for the Montreal-Berlin exchange organized by Volume MTL.
Tantôt magazine, founded in 2021 by poets Jonas Fortier and Shawn Cotton in Montreal and Berlin, is a bi-annual poetry publication printed entirely in riso. It publishes original voices of contemporary poetry, aiming to unite established writers with emerging talents. The magazine puts an emphasis on translation, spearheaded by poet and translator Jonas Fortier, who lived in Berlin for several years. Issues feature poems translated from German to French, with contributions from poets like May Ayim, Christine Lavant and Julian Weixelbaumer, alongside translations from English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Cantonese.
We would use this opportunity to seek collaborations with Berlin-based authors and illustrators, leveraging our multilingual skills and cultural insights. Alongside showcasing the magazine, we would offer prints, posters and books from the publishing house L’Oie de Cravan.
