* Focus // Who Will Still Recognise Them When the Earth Shakes on the Last Day: On Afro-feminist Genealogies

Participants: Mame-Fatou Niang, Natasha A. Kelly, Ndèye Fatou Kane

Moderator: Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro

Opening panel discussion at MIRIAM MAKEBA AUDITORIUM (HKW)

In the words of Fasia Jansen, throughout German history gender and human rights struggles were as significant in its time as it is for our generations today. In the midst of coming to a world that endlessly feels it may come to an end, Fasia reminds us of the people who we will choose to remember and those we will forget.

As we continue to experience conflicts around the world, we look back at the legacies that shaped and informed our practices and thought in the feminist African diaspora, how we are breaking colonial amnesias and re-imagine our stories through the scars, testimonials and risks of those who came before us and prepare a place for those who will come after us.
