Atea – Miss Read

Atea

Atea is a non profit art space based in La Merced neighborhood in Mexico City. Launched in 2010 turns into a platform continously active with a bunch of art and community activities.
We're an incubator and magnetic space for different artistic disciplines from various backgrounds, we're deeply involved into the independent publishing movement in the city.

In 2024 we received couple grants from Jumex Foundation and CONACULTA, last summer we published Atea10 a 400 pages book that compiles our archive and celebrates the first ten year of life of our project. In the 1st days of 2025 we win the Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura (Iberoamerican Bienalle of Architecture) with our book.

We're sharing table with Hechiza Prints an independent riso publisher based in our space. Hechiza is focused on creation, poetry, design and culture, creative processes, illustration, type design and graphic novels among others. Hechiza is helping to distribute publications from independent mexican projects.
