bruise studio

bruise is a small studio dedicated to the art of the book, from its conception to it resting on a shelf; from pamphlets, zines, art-books and non-books.

bruise studio mainly works as a publishing house: conceptualising, designing, printing and book-binding limited edition art books. As a publishing house, bruise is interested in alternative story-telling and creative image use, exploring the limits of what a book is thought to be.

bruise studio believes the book to be a centrepiece in the history of radical art making, as it archives communities, streams of thought, and generations of challengers of the mainstream.

We like to collaborate with artists and use the book as an opportunity to challange the infamous white space by playfully allowing the work to transform it. The white space becomes an art object by being stretched, folded, stabbed, sculptured to accommodate the artist´s work.
