Canto Press

Canto Press, by María Carolina Ceballos, is a project that focuses on the production of artists’ books and bookbinding projects, giving a lot of importance to the manual claret of bookmaking and the authenticity and experimentation of concept, language and form. María Carolina Ceballos is a Colombian book artist with emphasis in bookbinding and artists’ books. On 2021, she graduated from the MFA in Book Arts at The University of Iowa, and she has experience as a professional bookbinder, book conservator and book designer. The mission of Canto Press is to keep and celebrate the traditional processes of bookmaking while showing the endless possibilities of artists’ books.

This book was made from suminagashi prints invervined with embroidery, color pencils and ink. It is about the creative process and how art behaves like water in so many ways.

This special book is a series of boxes that open showing different perceptions of colors. Each box includes thread, ink, golf foil and mini books that help explain the artist' emotions towards color.

This photo book is a compilation of landscapes and little poems that can be read from anywhere in the book. The texts presents non-obvious relations between images and creates a poetic reading of landscapes.
