first page Literature – Miss Read

first page Literature

'first page' sets out to embrace one simple, bold idea — publish exclusively the opening paragraphs of fiction/textual works.

Presented in the traditional form of a newspaper (35x48cm), each issue showcases five writers and their compelling first pages, offering readers a glimpse into diverse narratives and storytelling styles. From time to time, artists who use texts as their artistic practices are featured in the issues, such as 'nabbteeri' who represented Finland in Nordic Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019 was featured in the magazine's 5th issue.

At 'first page', we celebrate the dedication and craft that writers invest in their opening lines - those crucial moments that captivate readers and set the tone for the entire story. By providing a platform for these beginnings, we aim to highlight emerging talents and the potential of their narratives.
