HOPPER&FUCHS

HOPPER&FUCHS is powered by publisher Bruno Devos. The HOPPER&FUCHS art book archive has a portfolio that presents a handful of the most influential and important Belgian artists today such as: Dirk Braeckman, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Nico Dockx, Guillaume Bijl and Joëlle Tuerlinckx as well as international artists such as Ren Hang (CH), Kumi Oguro (JP), and Yolanda Y. Liou (Taiwan-born), plus emerging artists and photographers. All books are printed in-house under Bruno's knowledge of printing.

The pinnacle principle of Bruno Devos’ curating is to create a safe space for books to serve as a tool for artists to engage their work with the public. This grounds in on the totality of the book: to enable an idea to be accessible to the world, a fellowship between the author and public

In this publication, I aim to explore participatory art through art through my own experience as an artist-mediator, focusing on how it bridges cultural and personal narratives.

the bear and the butterfly
Ruth van Haren Noman, the bear and the butterfly, HOPPER&FUCHS, 2025, © Ruth van Haren Noman

the bear and butterfly by Ruth van Haren Noman contains a selection of watercolours that were created across the seasons of one year. Starting in winter; slumbering, slow and hidden like a bear in hibernation, then spring; rooting and developing, unfolding itself like a butterfly. Summer arrives; flourishing and ripening towards the harvest in autumn, where things get processed and perhaps shaped into a book which can nurture us during yet another winter.
