Low-Budget Projects
Low-Budget Projects (LBP) is a multi-layered initiative by artist Gizem Üstüner, dedicated to resisting precarious labor and its isolating effects within the arts and culture field. Unpacking the everyday survival tactics and resistance strategies that art practitioners develop at the individual, collective, and institutional levels, it challenges systemic inequalities and addresses the root causes of socio-economic disparities embedded in art practices.
Taking various forms, LBP seeks to reinforce networks of solidarity amongst peers. Through celebratory events, discursive gatherings, practical workshops, and collaborative publications, each step invites the question: How can we —art and cultural workers— connect, exchange, and mobilize against the dominant capital flows and invisible power structures that shape artistic production?
