Mihret Kebede
Mihret Kebede she/her is a multidisciplinary artist and poet, renowned as a co-founder of Tobiya Poetic Jazz,Netsa Art Village Artists Collective, and the Addis Video Art Festival. She received a certificate award from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Ethiopia in 2013. Mihret's artistic journey spans local and international art exhibitions, workshops, poetry performances, and collaborative projects. Her works have been featured in "Wax and Gold: Poetry Jazz", Stille Macht: Silence und Dekolonisierung, and Modernist Art in Ethiopia. Furthermore, her poems have been published in esteemed platforms including Washington Square Review by the NYU creative writing program, Poetry International, "Lyrikline" Haus für Poesie, World Literature Today, "Lichtungen - Zeitschrift für Literatur," Circumference Magazine, "Poetica7" Cologne University, Le Nom Du Son: Une Anthologie Jazz et Poesie, and the first-ever anthology of Amharic poetry in English, "Songs We Learn from Trees," Currently, Mihret is a Ph.D. in practice candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
