Minigolf Deportivo – Miss Read

Minigolf Deportivo

Minigolf Deportivo® is an editorial project founded in 2016 in Santiago, Chile, and currently based in Berlin, Germany. We publish visual works by artists we admire, with the aim of spreading new languages through an experimental editorial practice. We believe that each publication should be a space for reflection and exploration of methods, materials and aesthetics, thus expanding the boundaries of printed matter.

The project is led by Francisca, who is in charge of the editing, design and binding of each publication, collaborating with small artisanal printing houses specialized in risography and screen printing. Over time, Minigolf Deportivo® has become a life project: a creative space for experimentation, reflection and appreciation of art that emerges outside of institutions.

Lucífuga
Soledad Ramírez y Asunción Mena, Lucífuga, Minigolf Deportivo, 2024, © Soledad Ramírez y Asunción Mena

Lucífuga is a series of approximately 80 drawings made by Soledad Ramírez since 2021, as part of her pictorial research, she proposes to make drawings using only graphite pencil and paper. From the precariousness of the material and the technique of stream of consciousness in tune with the music she chooses to listen to during the process, scenes emerge in which light, darkness and rhythm merge to reveal vast landscapes and imaginary. The homonymous publication, compiles part of this work, giving birth to new readings, in which the sequentiality of the images and their fluid link with Asunción Mena’s writing, converge in an invitation to immerse oneself in a sparkling and unfathomable environment.
