Nitta Masanori
I frequent the area in Brazil that juts out most into the Atlantic Ocean (a key point for bringing slaves from Africa) and take a collection of photographs centered on favelas (slums) and the religions practiced by the African descendants who live there.
I believe that risograph printing (Riso), which combines roughness with good color development, is the best method of output, and in recent years I have focused on making Riso books.
With the Riso series "GRAIN," which is published every other month in 100-150 copies, I have repeatedly attempted to expand the expression in the field of photographic printing.
I continue to make books based on the know-how I have accumulated.
