Oleg Babich

Oleg Babich is an artist and independent publisher working across artist books, drawing, and installation. His practice revolves around building fictional worlds through publishing, treating the book as both a narrative object and a starting point for spatial environments.

His ongoing project, Tender Beast, is an illustrated mythology of an imagined early human-like species, exploring evolution, instinct, and the blurred boundary between human and animal. Related publications, including Savage Saint, Magical Ape, and others, expand this world through parallel stories and characters.

Alongside books, he produces posters and printed editions that function as fragments of a larger narrative system. His publications are released in small runs and circulate through fairs, exhibitions, galleries, and independent bookstores.

His work approaches publishing as a way to construct evolving visual worlds—where books generate images, objects, and spaces rather than simply contain them.
