Pequeño Salvaje
Pequeno Salvaje is an independent, self-managed artisanal publishing house that operates from Wallmapu, an ancestral Mapuche indigenous territory (currently the country Chile, South America). We focus on material experimentation in dialogue with the content of contemporary Mapuche artists and sexual dissidents, creating publications that amplify their voices and works. Pequeno Salvaje was founded in the city of Buenos Aires in 2016 by Mapuche filmmaker and photographer Kati Antivilo (ig:@_antikat) with the idea of promoting the work of women, sexually dissident and indigenous artists, bodies and voices historically silenced by colonialism. We materialize books through artisanal and homemade production techniques. In each project we seek to design editorial pieces that represent and relate directly to the visual universe proposed by the guest authors for each publication. We like to play with different formats, papers, printing systems, binding forms and all the material possibilities that graphic creation offers.
