PrintRoom
PrintRoom presents, develops, and supports artistic strategies of independent publishing. Founded in 2003 as a traveling and growing collection of artist publications, PrintRoom is now settled in Rotterdam where it is host to diverse audiences.
Here, artist publishing is not just seen as a medium in which ideas are communicated, but a process around which communities emerge, exchanges take place, and alternative ways of living together are put into practice. It is a diverse and approachable discipline where conceptual and activist ideas coexist and support each other.
Through creating and publishing artist publications, building and sharing a unique archive, organizing a "Publisher in Residence" program, and curating various events, PrintRoom connects international networks and local communities daily. For PrintRoom, artist publishing equals do-it-yourself together: every publishing project is at the same time a socially engaged, collective process.
