SAND Journal – Miss Read

SAND Journal

Founded 2009, SAND is a literary and art journal created by an international volunteer team in Berlin. On and off the page, SAND aims to foster a community-led approach and break down barriers within the often-hierarchical and homogeneous publishing world.

Each issue of SAND is curated from open calls for submissions and published under a loose theme, which is chosen post-selections by the SAND team. Recent issue themes include: Cycles, Bridging, Shifting, Lost & Found, Undone, Coping, Archaeology.

Featuring work by writers, translators, and artists from around the world, SAND seeks out fresh and underrepresented perspectives and has long amplified the voices of writers and artists typically marginalised in mainstream publishing.
