Steffi Drerup
Steffi Drerup is a Berlin‑based artist working with photography and archival research to explore how personal and political histories shape what can be seen, remembered or imagined. Her practice sits between self‑portraiture, experimental image‑making and performative gestures, often drawing on autobiographical material as a site of inquiry. She is interested in the gaps - what is missing, withheld or erased - and how images can both reveal and obscure these absences.
Alongside her artistic work, she develops publications that function as autonomous spaces for research, narrative and visual thinking. Each project is built through careful editing, sequencing, and material decisions, treating the book as a site for preserving and unfolding work in a sustained, time‑based form.
At Miss Read 2026, she presents publications that reflect this ongoing engagement with memory politics, visual absence, and the material possibilities of the photographic page.
