Time Based Editions

Time Based Editions, launching in September 2023, is a series of books merging sound to paper and binding printed matter to time. An audio track, activated by a QR code on the book's first page, combines narration, sound, and instructions that guide you over a given time through a book.

Adding time to the materiality and tactility of a book, creates a unique live experience: turning, flicking and comparing pages, closing and opening eyes, tracing lines on the page with a finger…

This live experience ignited by a book, is distributed through bookstores, but also through performative events as part of exhibitions, site-specific presentations or discursive programs. Simultaneously for a group over speakers in a room or an individual experience over your own headphones and phone.

Each release is a unique work by a different artist. The first is 'Borderline Visible' by Ant Hampton released in September 2023. The book design is done by Roland Brauchli. Two more books are planned for 2024.
