Urbanophil
Urbanophil is both an institution (since 2006, e.V.) and a publishing house (since 2019) with a focus on urbanism, architecture and heritage. Our idea is to bring people (experts and public) into conversation about urbanism, urban culture, architecture, architectural history, heritage concepts and to inform about innovative movements from researchers in our field.
Urbanophil started in 2006 with a blog, invited to film-screenings in public spaces and fought for the preservation of certain buildings from the 20th century (e.g. Berlin's underground stations from the 60s to 90s). In 2019, we changed our main medium of communication from blogging to publishing books (print and digital), in order to go deeper into the topics. Because we love cities and books.
