Virgo Hands Books – Miss Read

Virgo Hands Books

Virgo Hands Books is an experimental publishing collective founded by Aima Fan (China) and Helena Ospina (Colombia), brought together in London by a shared devotion to books and a Virgo sensibility. The collective produces artist's books in limited editions, approaching the book not as container but as object: sculptural, spatial, interactive, and conceptually expansive. Rooted in the editorial and the handmade, Virgo Hands Books treats publishing as a practice of attention to materiality, to encounter, to the expanded possibilities of what a book can hold, demand, and become. Their work engages with themes of philosophy, poetry, and existentialist theory, reflecting on questions of being, perception, and how meanings are produced.

The inside of a double-sided concertina book. This work functions as the documentation of an ongoing action: The artist must record a note every time they take the bus; the recording must take place within the bus exclusively, with only basic editing allowed outside of the bus; and the artist must stick to it.
