weko Pressure – Miss Read

weko Pressure

weko Pressure is an independent publishing collective based in Hamburg and The Hague, organized by weko and Sijia, occasionally joined by friends.

Since 2021, weko Pressure has been making books and zines that translate complex social pressure and unnamed feelings through comics, architectural matters, and visual narratives.

Their work introduces imaginative and objective places and beings, positioning how physical details and bodily states can carry emotional and latent meanings beyond language.

weko Pressure has participated in diverse art book festivals, including Indiecon, Exlibris, Between Books, I Never Read, Detroit Art Book Fair, Hong Kong Art Book Fair, and UNFOLD Shanghai.

Someone said they saw a crocodile slip into a manhole, but no one believed it at first. Then the city started experiencing random power outages. When people began digging to investigate, they found cables and pipes that had been damaged in unnatural ways. The crocodile rumors kept spreading, and the blackouts spread like a disease - so did the construction.
