Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E.

Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. / P74 Gallery is an independent non-profit cultural producer and publisher, operating for the past 28 years in Ljubljana-Slovenia. In 2004 we launch a program focused on artist books and editions and collaborate with known international artist and artist-groups. Artist-book program is focused on education, presentation and production of artist-books and related materials. In our international collection of artist books we have more that 950 titles (zines, artist books, catalouges, magazines/newspapers), dated from early 40s till recent.

The working philosophy of the Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E./ P74 Gallery was based on ideas and strategies of adaptability, flexibility, intersections of disciplines and discourses, collaboration, exchange and critical approach. In last years a number of research projects that we have prepared have dealt with the topics of locality, language and ideology, participation, alternative energy sources, informal models of economy, transformation of public space, and overlooked art artistic phenomena from the history.

Today we can describe the Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. / P74 Gallery as one of the leading publishers/gallery for contemporary art in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Our mission is to exchange new ideas, promote innovative and challenging models in current art and culture locally and internationally.
