Becoming is a publishing house that, across several plateaus, publishes text, audio and video, both physically and virtually. Or as we like to say...
Becoming is a Machine.
The Becoming-Machine produces tracings. It is a machine that is itself made up of five machines: three of these machines produce immaterial tracings: articles, reviews, interviews, essays, letters, music, transmissions, images, & films. Another of these machines synthesises and substantiates tracings into materials. Lastly, One machine copies all the tracings and indexes them.
Together, these machines produce an ecosystem, fields within which particles coagulate just as rhythm coagulates from noise.
We have a number of projects coming over the next 12 months, and are considering our involvement at Miss Read '24 as a re-opening, celebrating the turning of a year since we presented Becoming at Miss Read '23.
