InterViews
In InterViews, an ongoing series of art zines inspired by classically structured surveys, Ayumi explores various topics by dissecting them, pushing them in opposite directions, or transforming them entirely. All interviews are fictitious. Some follow a familiar format exploring recognizable inventions and studies, while others take the form of dialogues or soliloquies that often extend into the absurd.
On the foundation of the zine, InterViews serves as a platform for artistic collaboration and dialogue. Conceived as an ongoing art project, InterViews emerged from the need to create a venture that continuously invites artists to collaborate and engage in dialogues. Collaborative thoughts and research on specific topics are transformed into the production of each issue. The production process evolves into an artistic collaboration and dialogue that is showcased, exhibited, and performed within and in association with each issue. This includes exhibitions, readings, performances, and more.
Each issue is limited to a numbered edition of fifty, twenty pages each, using inkjet print and risoprint on colored paper.
All the issues that were created between 2014 and 2023.

InterViews issue 15 "Die widerspenstigen Dinge" in collaboration with Philipp Modersohn and Anna-Lena Wenzel deals with the vibrant aspect of matter.

InterViews #14 “Interviews mit Pilzen” explores myco- and mythologies and was created in collaboration between Julia Frankenberg and Ayumi Rahn and features collaged drawings and texts by Marie Melchiorsen, Julia Frankenberg, and Frauke Boggasch.

InterViews issue 13 "Faltungen" was created in collaboration with Frauke Boggasch and explores in two autobiographical texts different possibilities of interpretation of the term "Faltungen" (Foldings) within the dimensions of origin and past, simultaneity and present.
The release took place in the context of the opening of the exhibition night parade at Kunstverein Neukölln 2021.

InterViews issue 12 "Conditions" explores in three fictional dialogues different aspects and dimensions, possibilities of interpretation and interpretation of the term "conditions".
For the release of the new issue, six artists and authors were invited to deal with the term in their own texts. The release took place in 2019 at b_books, Berlin.
