Leporello photobooks et al.
Leporello is a bookshop devoted to photobooks as starting and connecting point with graphic design, architecture, illustrated books, essays, literature. Leporello opened in Pigneto neighborhood, Roma, on February 2017, her founder, Chiara Capodici, is a curator, educator and book designer.
It is an exhibition venue and a project space focused on books and images, with the aim of promoting and disseminating a multidisciplinary and wide approach to visual culture. It’s a word with a funny sound, reminding an accordion book, Mozart, or simply, in Italian, a small hare.
We work on promoting the photobook culture, on an international networking of publishers and photographers, and on a keen reading of the contemporaneity in the publishing world, through a series of initiatives within and outside the bookshop: books presentations, exhibitions, workshops, pop-up events and urban actions. Sometimes we produce books, posters and other printed matter.
