Luc Kordas – Miss Read

Luc Kordas

I am a photographer based in New York, working at the intersection of street photography and intimate portraiture. My practice focuses primarily on people—encounters shaped by intuition, proximity, and the subtle tensions of urban life. Moving fluidly between spontaneous street moments and direct portraits, I construct narratives that are both documentary and deeply personal.

My ongoing series New York Chronicles distills years of photographing in the New York into a raw, human-centered visual diary. I am drawn to fleeting gestures, quiet resilience, and the layered identities that define the city’s underground ecosystem. Rather than monumentalizing New York, I focus on its everyday protagonists and the emotional charge of shared public space. I am the author of two monographs: New York Unseen [teNeues] and Polacy [self-published].

At a Berlin art book fair, I want to present and sell my New York Chronicles zines as tactile, self-published objects—intimate extensions of my practice. Through them, I invite viewers to slow down and engage, page by page, with stories unfolding beyond the frame.
