microutopías, Publication Studio Montevideo

microutopías is a Uruguayan publication studio dedicated to artist books, zine production, and risograph printing. Rooted in micropolitical artistic practices, it develops collaborative editorial processes that contribute to the collective construction of dissident narratives from the South. The studio approaches graphic language as a narrative element in itself, expanding the interpretations of artworks and generating new forms of meaning, subjectivity, and critical engagement for readers.

Active since 2016, the studio shares publishing practices with PS Montevideo (2020), part of the Publication Studio network. It is also a member of Lumbung of Publishers, an international publishing network that emerged from participation in Documenta Fifteen in Kassel in 2022. Since 2018, microutopías has organized the Montevideo Art Book Fair, contributing to the development of independent publishing and artist-book cultures in the region.
