Akademie Schloss Solitude

Akademie Schloss Solitude is an international and transdisciplinary artists’ residence. Its unique model affords artists and scientists valuable freedom to develop their work and perform research in both a physical and digital context. Akademie Schloss Solitude’s wide-ranging fellowship program promotes the interrelationship of art and science across all disciplines and fields of practice. Special programs address relevant thematic focuses. Akademie Schloss Solitude provides broad public access to artistic thought and action thanks to a diverse range of public events.

We have a long-standing publishing programme. Since 1991, Edition Solitude has published over 225 titles in its in-house publishing catalogue, such as artists' books, novels, anthologies, poetry volumes and anniversary publications.

Also our online publications, such as the Solitude Journal and special editions, communicate current topics at Akademie Schloss Solitude. The Solitude Journal appears several times a year as an online and print magazine. It presents a selection of contributions conceived specifically for this format, and enables a discursive and in-depth examination of specific theme clusters.
